Hurricane Sandy Benefit Held at the Laugh Factory in Chicago

Laugh Factory Chicago

Our media campaign for a charity fundraiser benefitting Hurricane Sandy victims relocating to Chicago created a great deal of media buzz in the Chicago area.

The Laugh Factory Chicago event, featuring comedienne Sarah Benincasa and a musical performance from Dylan McDonald and the Avians (featuring frontman Dylan McDonald, son of five-time Grammy winner Michael McDonald), sparked an immediate reaction from the media.

With a campaign that started just before Christmas and an event date set for the week between Christmas and New Year’s, we anticipated that placing the story, when people were winding down for the break and some already out of the office, would be difficult.

The first call came in from nationally recognized reporter Pam Oliver, and the responses just kept coming.  With phones ringing off the hook and email inboxes flooded as fifty major media outlets clambered for details, a press conference was held, detailing the relocation program and what it meant for both Sandy evacuees and the city of Chicago.
